New song to mark India’s 100 crore jab benchmark


NEW DELHI: In view of its efforts to reach the milestone of administering 100 crore of doses of Covid vaccine and to counter hesitation, the central government on Saturday launched an audiovisual song produced and sung by famous singer Kailash Kher. The song highlights how vaccination saved the country and its people from Covid-19 and that it is the only way to beat the virus.
“This song will help dispel myths about vaccination and overcome the creeping hesitation about vaccines,” Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said. “In the coming week, India will hit the 100 crore vaccine dose milestone,” he reiterated. As of Saturday, about 74% of people over 18 had been vaccinated with the first dose. Mandaviya and Minister of Oil and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri jointly released this audiovisual song on vaccination.
The minister said that on the day the vaccine dose of 100 crore is reached, the government will launch another song produced by Kher to build on the campaign.
The song highlights how vaccination saved the country and its people from Covid-19 and that it is the only way to beat the virus.
