Fight fans arguably witnessed the most egregious display of MMA officiants earlier today (Saturday, October 30, 2021) at UFC 267 live on ESPN + from inside the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

The incident occurred during the undercard fight between veteran welterweight Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos and Octagon newcomer Benoit Saint-Denis. After a tight first lap, dos Santos started touching Saint-Denis on the feet. The Brazilian unloaded everything he had and appeared to have done enough damage to finish off Saint-Denis.

However, referee Vyacheslav Kiselev refused to step in to stop the fight in one of the worst referee performances of all time. Dos Santos kept shooting and almost exhausted the entire outing. Saint-Denis eventually survived and went on for the rest of the fight, but he took about five years of punishment in his first UFC appearance.

To make matters worse, Kiselev allowed a points deduction during the bout after dos Santos landed an illegal groin strike. No warning was given and given that this is the same referee who refused to stop the fight when dos Santos beat Saint-Denis, it was not nice. In fact, Kiselev did such a bad job that he was fired from his scheduled duties for the UFC 267 main card opening between Magomed Ankalaev and Volkan Oezdemir.

As you might have imagined, the MMA community was not happy with the horrible arbitration. Everyone took to social media during and after the fight to show their disgust. Check out the reaction below:
