The Prince of Wales moved into the house after the death of the Queen Mother in 2002, where she had lived for almost five decades. Previously, it had been reported that the Duke, 37, and Duchess, 40, of Sussex were to move into Clarence House once Prince Charles became King.
The Mail on Sunday reports that the departure of the Sussexes in California means that Clarence House is “no longer on the cards”.
The report pointed out: “It is now more likely to be kept for Prince George, Princess Charlotte or Prince Louis. “
Clarence House was where Prince William and Kate Middleton gave their engagement interview in 2010.
The property is valued at over £ 50million.
The property was where the Queen and Prince Philip lived before the monarch ascended the throne in 1952.
The report also suggests that Prince Charles is considering reducing the monarch’s residence at Buckingham Palace to an ‘apartment’ above the store when he becomes king.
