Matches to Go for “Dern vs Rodriguez” Main Card Winners – .

UFC Vegas 39 fell last night (Saturday, October 9, 2021) inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a main event fight between Marina Rodriguez and Mackenzie Dern. After 25 minutes of action, Rodriguez won the fight by unanimous decision (to be reviewed here). In the main co-event, Randy Brown defeated Jared Gooden, securing the victory by unanimous decision.

Winner: Marina Rodriguez

Gagnant: Joanna Jedrzejczyk

Marina Rodriguez solidified as a legitimate threat to the division title after securing her third straight win over a high-ranking opponent. A fight against former division champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk seems like the logical fight to go next. Carla Esparza is set to win the next championship rematch between champion Rosa Namajunas and Weili Zhang, leaving “JJ” and Rodriguez with the only two top-ranked fighters without a fight. Let them dance inside the Octagon to see who will likely get the next strap hit. Rodriguez had a few choice words for the ex-champion due to her inactivity, and although she says she doesn’t like fighting her too much, if the contract comes up it will be up to her to sign on the dotted line. if she wants to make it to the big dance eventually.

Gagnant : Randy Brown

Who should he fight next: Tim means

Brown won twice this weekend. Not only did he defeat Jared Gooden, but he won 20% of his opponent’s purse after failing to put on weight. Brown has done pretty well over the past few years, racking up an impressive 4-1 record in his last five fights. He’s still got some work to do if he’s going to get closer to the Top 15 in welterweight, but a fight and win over Means could be what brings him closer. Like Brown, Means has been on a good run, earning three straight wins and is also 4-1 in his last five fights.

Winner: Matthew Nicolas

Who he should face next: David Dvorak

Nicolau picked up a huge win over former flyweight title contender Tim Elliott to improve his winning streak to four consecutive fights. Most of the Top 10-ranked 125-pound fighters are currently booked, leaving Dvorak as the only viable option since he’s not locked in with a fight at the moment. Dvorak is ranked No. 10, while Nicolau is No. 11. Dvorak is on a 16-game winning streak and is 3-0 inside the Octagon. This match-up would prove to be a difficult challenge for all of them.

Winner: Maria Agapova

Who she should face next: Casey O’Neill

Agapova returned to the winning track and earned an additional $ 50,000 in bonus cash after the fight after securing an impressive submission victory over Sabina Mazo. This is Agapova’s third post-fight bonus in the last four fights (one under the Invicta FC banner). With a 2-1 record inside the Octagon, a fight against O’Neill seems appropriate. O’Neill is 3-0 under the UFC and just picked up a big win over Antonina Shevchenko. Unbeaten at 8-0, O’Neill would be a huge feather in Agapova’s cap if she could be the one to inflict her first career loss.

Winner: Chris Gutierrez

Who he should face next: Nate Maness

Gutierrez improved to 5-1 under the UFC banner after securing a split decision victory over Felipe Colares, allowing him to maintain his momentum. A fighter in the stacked bantamweight division, Gutierrez has his work cut out for him if he wants to break through the Top 15. Next for the burgeoning contender, a fight against Maness seems possible. Maness is currently on a four-game winning streak and has won all three of her UFC-sponsored fights so far. Maness was last seen knocking out Tony Gravely last month, so his return to action could line up with Gutierrez’s.
