Martha Rogers calls on Edward to “quit” in series of tweets – .

TORONTO –

The drama between members of the Rogers family appears to have spread from the boardroom to social media.

Martha Rogers, director of Rogers Communications, called on her brother, Edward Rogers, to “step down” in a series of tweets published in the early hours of Saturday.

“You can stop me at any time by ceasing, withdrawing and resigning. Know that I will not mention anything without full receipts, I have had them for over 20 years – who is vulnerable now ”, she wrote, apparently calling on Edward to step down as chairman of the family trust that apparently controls the voting shares of the company.

In the tweets, Martha also said she would start tweeting “what’s really going on” with evidence of her “Trump scandal.”

“I would gladly blow my life to stop this,” she wrote, adding that she had already been threatened with “serious personal repercussions.”

The family feud reportedly began at the Canadian telecommunications and media giant after Edward attempted to replace CEO Joe Natale, a move that was blocked by Edward’s sisters, Martha and Melinda Rogers-Hixon, and his mother. Loretta Rogers. Edward was ousted from his post as chairman of the company on Thursday. He remains a member of the board of directors as a director.

Although no longer president, Edward has apparently sought to assert control. In a press release Thursday night, he announced his intention to remove independent directors John Clappison, David Peterson, Bonnie Brooks, Ellis Jacob and new chairman John A. MacDonald from the company’s board of directors.

In their place, he appointed Michael Cooper, Jack Cockwell, Jan Innes, Ivan Fecan and John Kerr as new members.

Martha said her father, Ted Rogers, former president and CEO of Rogers Communications, appointed her to the board to make sure nothing “crazy” happened at the company.

“This is for you daddy,” she wrote.
