UK Transport Police said officers attended Roby Station, Knowsley, at 6:46 p.m. yesterday, Thursday, October 21.
When emergency services arrived on the scene, they found an injured person on the tracks.

The North West Ambulance Service also visited for treatment, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for the UK Transport Police said: “[We] were called to Roby station at 6:46 p.m. yesterday, October 21, following reports of an injured person on the tracks.
“Paramedics were also present, but unfortunately a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“This incident is not treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner. “
Trains between Liverpool Lime Street and Huyton were canceled on the line as the incident was dealt with by emergency services.
Services between Wigan, Liverpool and Manchester Oxford Road have also been disrupted and delayed.
