The 1,807 sexual assaults that occurred on Lyft trips in 2019, the most recent year for the report’s data, was a 64% increase from 2017, the company said. But as the number of rides grew even faster, overall safety improved, Lyft said, with the rate of sexual assault dropping 19% during that time.
