Britney Spears once again lambasted her family in an Instagram post shared on Friday.
In a long legend reflecting her newfound freedom, the pop superstar, 39, teased as she sat on a safe of sordid stories about parents who sat as she endured the grueling conditions of a 13-year guardianship.
“Lord have mercy on the souls of my family if I ever do an interview !!! She wrote, although she added that a revealer is currently not at the top of her to-do list.
“Until then… I stay away from business that’s all I’ve known my whole life… that’s why it’s so confusing to me !!! ” she wrote.
The artist, whose career began in 1993 at the age of 11 as Disney Mouseketeer, had previously criticized his family for complicity in continuing the legal arrangement established by his ex-father, Jamie Spears, in 2008.
“If you’re like my family who say things like ‘sorry you’re in a guardianship’ … probably thinking you’re different [from you] so they can fuck with you !!!! She wrote of their collective inaction in an October 5 Instagram post.
After a fierce battle between Britney and her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, Jamie, 69, was finally suspended from guardianship on September 29. A hearing to discuss its termination is scheduled for November 12.
Addressing court in June, Britney expressed her anger that her family had “done nothing” to help her after she alleged that, under Jamie’s control, she had been forced into a mental health facility, forced to take lithium and forced to have a contraceptive IUD inserted, all against her will.
Although Britney’s mother Lynne Spears defended her daughter’s freedom in court, her support only came after the #FreeBritney movement started in 2019.
Britney’s older brother Bryan Spears called guardianship a “good thing” for his family in a podcast interview in July 2020.
Meanwhile, Britney’s younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears has insisted she supports the Grammy winner’s release from Trusteeship, despite widespread fan speculation that she won’t.
“If ending the trusteeship … or whatever she wants to do to be happy, I support that,” Jamie Lynn said on Instagram in June after facing backlash for remaining silent on the matter.
Since then, Britney has repeatedly taken hits from Jamie Lynn, 30, on social media. More recently, the “Toxic” singer apparently overshadowed the “Zoey 101” alum for changing the title of her memoir from one of her classic song lyrics to “Things I Should’ve Said.”
Of course, Britney’s father resisted the dissolution of the guardianship for years. Disgruntled Jamie even called his supporters “conspiracy theorists” in an August 2020 interview with The Post.
Britney’s social media post on Friday also included her feelings about regaining control of her personal, medical and financial affairs.
“I’m just going to be honest and say I’ve waited so long to be released from the situation I’m in… and now that it’s here I’m scared to do anything because I’m scared.” to make a mistake! !! ” she wrote, echoing old claims that she had been told guardianship “may end” if she complies with her team’s wishes.
“It never worked !!! She continued. “I worked so hard but now that it’s there and I’m getting closer and closer to the end, I’m very happy but there are a lot of things that scare me 😬 !!! “
Britney has admitted that she is currently fearful of the invasive paparazzi lining outside her gated community in the Thousand Oaks enclave in Los Angeles.
“The paps run through the trees and on the road 🛣 when I get home and it’s scary !!!! ” she wrote. “I don’t like them trying to scare me and jump like they do… it’s like they want me to do something crazy 🤷🏼♀️ !!! “
Elsewhere, Britney pointed out that she had done nothing to “be treated like” she has been doing for over ten years. “I am disgusted with the system and would like to live in another country !!! ”
The legend of the former Las Vegas headliner was accompanied by a photo of a Christmas tree in her living room.
“I’m celebrating Christmas early this year… because why not ??? !!! I believe that any reason to find more joy in life is a good idea, ”she explained. “And it’s no secret that I have experienced this in the past… so I might have to do things a little differently from now on !!! ”
