Bass revealed in a March 2020 interview with Entertainment Tonight that their surrogate mother lost her child to a miscarriage, which was their ninth surrogacy attempt.

“We unfortunately lost it after eight weeks, which happens to almost everyone when you go through IVF,” Bass said.

“I didn’t even know it while we were going through this, but we have met so many great couples who have the same story,” he added.
