Many would argue that wins are not a quarterback statistic. The NFL apparently thinks so, given that the achievements based on the quarterback’s wins are regularly included in the league’s weekly summary of important statistical developments.

This week, the league highlighted this important statistical development: Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has now won 35 games. That’s more than any quarterback before the age of 25, breaking the record set in the 1980s by Dan Marino.

Jackson was not 25 until January 7; thus, he can push the mark all the way to 45, given that the Ravens play 10 more games before officially ending a quarter century on earth.

Hopefully Jackson will get paid first. With a goodbye looming after the week seven game against the Bengals, the Ravens and Jackson must prioritize giving him the financial security he deserves.

It should be simple. Jackson should seek the deal with Josh Allen, and the Ravens should just give it to him. And if the Ravens refuse, Jackson should decline to play in Week Nine.
