HHuman remains have been unearthed in a Florida wilderness in search of Gabby Petito’s fiancé, Brian Laundrie, according to reports.
A backpack containing items belonging to the missing laundry was found near the remains on the Carlton Reservation in Florida, according to a statement from Laundrie attorney Steven Bertolino.
The human remains have not yet been identified.
In a statement, family lawyer Steve Bertolino said, “Chris and Roberta Laundrie went to Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park this morning to search for Brian.
“The FBI and (the North Port Police Department) were informed last night of Brian’s parents’ intentions and they met Chris and Roberta there this morning.
“After a brief search outside of a runway that Brian frequented, items belonging to Brian were found. For now, the police are conducting a more in-depth investigation in this area. “
Police attempted to locate Laundrie as he is believed to be a person of interest in Petito’s disappearance.
An international search has been launched to find the American blogger after her disappearance without a trace during a trip across the country with her lover.
His body was eventually discovered near the remote Spread Creek Dispersed Campground in the Bridger-Teton National Forest in western Wyoming.
In the weeks leading up to Ms Petito’s death, the couple had documented their perfect van lives on social media as they continued their journey.
