According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, excellent preseason performer Dennis Smith Jr. won 14th place for the Portland Trail Blazers.
Guard Dennis Smith Jr., will be on the Portland Trail Blazers’ opening night roster, a source told ESPN.

Portland’s roster is now likely established for the start of the regular season. The front office is not expected to occupy the 15th place in Portland at this time.
Smith Jr., who started for the Blazers in their last preseason game against the Golden State Warriors, beat Marquese Chriss, Quinn Cook and Patrick Paterson for the contract. All of them signed training camp deals with Portland last month.
The North Carolina state product recorded preseason averages of 11 points on 33.3% from three-pointers, 5 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 23.9 minutes – much more time than its three rivals.
At 6’2, Smith Jr. bolsters the Blazers’ leader rotation, currently made up of Damian Lillard, Anfernee Simons and occasionally CJ McCollum.
Smith, 23, was drafted ninth by the Dallas Mavericks in 2017 before being traded to the New York Knicks in the famous Kristaps Porzingis 2019 deal. He was traded with a second round pick to the Detroit Pistons. against Derrick Rose in February. He holds career averages of 11.8 points on 31% from three-pointers, along with 4.4 assists and 3.1 rebounds.
