Dana White agrees with fighter’s bigoted “terrorist” taunt against Afghan enemy – .

According to UFC President Dana White, bigotry is an acceptable form of gossip among fighters. At least that was his response to a situation that unfolded during Monday’s Contender Series weigh-ins.
After Israeli Oron Kahlon and Afghanistan’s Javid Basharat stepped on the scales for Tuesday night’s fight – Kahlon ran out of three pounds – the two gathered for a ceremonial face-off in which Basharat refused his opponent’s handshake. With UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby between them, Kahlon was heard calling Basharat a “terrorist.”

When asked on Tuesday if Kahlon’s fanatical remark perhaps went too far, even by MMA’s standards of trashy conversation, White made it clear he had no problem with it.

“No, not in this area, I don’t (worry it’s too far),” White told reporters at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. “If you look you can add that to the pile of pretty nasty things that have been said in this sport. And not just this sport – boxing, I’m sure Muay Thai, kickboxing, you name it. Wicked things are said.

“In this incredibly politically correct world we live in, this is one place that is not. “

Basharat then dominated Kahlon for nearly all three rounds of Dana White’s Contender 45 series before submitting him with a guillotine choke with 48 seconds remaining. The performance was good enough to win the unbeaten Basharat (11-0) a UFC contract.

As for the Whites, what happened to Kahlon in the cage is enough for the UFC to take no action.

“Are we going to do something?” It was done tonight, ”White said. ” You know what I mean? That’s the beauty of this sport. I say it all the time: it’s not a great sport. It’s a very tough sport. We tell each other a lot of mean things, you know, and justice is served at the end of the day.

“Look, when you have a situation like this, the best way to solve the problem is to fight, and you fight legally. You get paid legally, and that’s what happened tonight.
