Cox Communications experiences widespread blackout in Acadiana, Baton Rouge – .

Cox Communications is experiencing a widespread blackout in southern Louisiana, particularly in Acadiana and Baton Rouge.
Cox issued a statement at 8:30 pm, saying, “We are experiencing an outage in our Baton Rouge and Acadiana markets. At present, we are collecting more information to determine the extent of the impact. We will provide an update once we have more information. “, a website that tracks outages, shows that customers across the southern region are currently having issues with their cable and internet. Customers in the Baton Rouge area were also reporting issues, as were New Iberia, Lafayette and Crowley. Intercourse began shortly after 7 p.m.

Many customers said they tried calling to report outages, but also had difficulty connecting to Cox himself.

A spokesperson for Cox told KATC he is currently in contact with engineers to determine the problem and added that the outage was not only affecting the Lafayette area.

Baton Rouge TV stations are also reporting widespread blackouts in this region.

Telephone lines are cut in some police departments in the area, including the Breaux Bridge Police Department and the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office. If you have an emergency there, please call 911.
