Chloe Brockett has denounced fans asking her to “help” her former TOWIE co-star, Joey Turner, who showed off his staggering weight loss in a series of photos that fans described as “disturbing.”
College student Joey, 21, raised concerns on Saturday after posting a photo of himself on Instagram that looked very thin, and hours later Chloe, 20, commented under the photos assuring fans ‘He’s fine, he’s eating’ and asking them ‘to stop moaning at her’.
Chloe wrote: “What gets me a little confused is why I’m constantly tagged in these photos saying I should ‘help’ Joey ‘. He’s fine, he’s eating.

She continued, “I spoke to him, I see him regularly, all these people who preach on ‘help your friend’ also write ‘vile’ and ‘way too skinny! “
“Sorry Karen from Blackpool, forgot that you see Joey regularly and know what he’s eating and how he’s doing?” However, me, his friend, am I getting bitched by complete strangers? [sic]
Chloe concluded, “Make this make sense. Joey is doing fine and we talk regularly. I understand he looks skinny, but it’s his personal choice.

In a separate statement, Joey defended his model photos and said, “I’m not your model.
“If I’m being honest I’m not fazed by the comments, I just want those around me to know I’m okay.
“I don’t care about comments just because it’s hard to care about the opinions of people who don’t know anything about me, my diet, my metabolism, or my medical history with my weight.
“I’m a 20 year old student, I’m not on TV. I’m a student like any other and I’m not your role model so if you want someone to admire I suggest you put someone else on a pedestal because I’m not them.

In his statement released upon leaving the show, he wrote: “After two and a half years on the show, I have decided to take a step back and create a new path for myself.
“I started the show at the age of 17 after being approached by producers asking if I was interested in being on TV.
