Longtime investor Paul Tudor Jones tested positive for Covid-19 after attending a dinner to benefit the Robin Hood Foundation.

“I tested positive for COVID Thursday afternoon, the day after Robin Hood’s annual dinner. I had a negative PCR test for COVID on Monday, but had another PCR test on Thursday after a colleague at my home tested positive, ”Jones said in a statement provided to CNBC. “Everyone at dinner has been vaccinated and we are sharing the information as we have it. I feel good, I have no temperature and I follow the COVID protocols. If I have inadvertently exposed someone, I am truly and deeply sorry.

Jones co-founded the foundation in the 1980s and is currently a member of the group’s board of directors. He has a net worth of $ 7.8 billion, according to Forbes. The Robin Hood Foundation separately noted that Jones “followed all protocols and showed no symptoms on the night of the annual performance. Anyone who meets the CDC’s guidelines for high-risk exposure has been personally contacted. ”

A spokesperson for the foundation explained in an email to CNBC on Friday that they “had contacted all of our guests, many of whom we spoke with verbally.”

There were 3,000 attendees at the Jacob Javits Center, according to an announcement at the event.

The foundation dinner included musical performances by Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys and the Jonas Brothers. Legendary Beatle Paul McCartney attended and was honored at the gathering of some of New York’s richest business leaders.

Other political and business figures were seen during the dinner.

Billionaire and former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg has been spotted. Democratic mayoral candidate Eric Adams has been spotted in turmoil. New York Attorney General Letitia James and former Congressman Max Rose were also at the Javits Center during the event. James considered running for governor.

Mike Novogratz, a former hedge fund manager, delivered a speech and is also on the board.

That night alone, the foundation announced that it had raised more than $ 70 million. The foundation is known to fight poverty in New York.

Since its inception, the Robin Hood Foundation has been supported by some of Wall Street’s most influential leaders. Their current board of directors also includes Goldman Sachs executive Dina Powell McCormick, Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon, Greenlight Capital chairman David Einhorn and David Tepper, chairman of Appaloosa Management.

McCormick is also the organization’s vice president.
