Bayern Munich and France defender avoids day-long jail after successful appeal – .

Lucas Hernandez avoided a six-month prison sentence for violating a restraining order in 2017 after his appeal was accepted by the provincial court in Madrid.
The Bayern Munich defender had until October 28 to go to jail voluntarily, but he successfully appealed the prison sentence for disobeying a restraining order following a 2017 conviction for domestic violence against his then girlfriend and now wife, Amelia de la Osa Lorente.

The France international was sentenced to 31 days of community service, and he and his partner were banned from coming together or communicating in any way for a period of six months.

However, he was arrested at Madrid airport in 2017 for violating the restraining order after returning to Spain after his honeymoon with Lorente. She was not arrested because her injunction had not yet been served.

Hernandez’s sentence will be suspended for four years as long as he does not commit a new offense during the period and has been fined € 96,000.

The sentence was as follows: “Article 26 of the Provincial Court of Madrid upheld the appeal lodged by Lucas Hernández against the warrant of imprisonment for failure to comply with the sentence and suspends the execution of the sentence of six month inflicted on the offender under the following conditions:

  • Four-year suspension period
  • The suspension is conditional on the conviction not to commit a new offense during this period.
  • The suspension is also conditional on the payment of a fine which is established in 240 fine installments with a daily quota of 400 euros.

Former Bayern president Uli Hoeness has offered his support to Hernandez and criticized Spain’s legal system, calling the trial a “joke”.

“This is all ridiculous,” he told SPORT1.

“He’s married to his wife and is now going to jail for a story that happened years ago?” This is a joke. “
