Android 12-based ColorOS 12 global launch slated for October 11 – .

Yesterday Google announced the official release of Android 12, and shortly thereafter Oppo announced that it would globally launch ColorOS 12 based on Android 12 next week – October 11.

This means that Oppo will present the ColorOS 12 Global ROM next Monday, which is expected to be slightly different from the version announced in China last month and is already available for some Chinese Oppo and OnePlus units.

Oppo has yet to detail the ColorOS 12 Global ROM deployment schedule, but the company is accepting applications for the ColorOS 12 beta of Find X3 Pro in Malaysia and Indonesia.

If you live in one of these countries and own the Find X3 Pro, you can participate by accessing the Settings > Software update menu, then click the gear icon in the upper right corner, then click Trial version > Beta version, then fill in your information, and click Apply now. If your application is accepted, you will receive an OTA. But note that the available slots are limited, so you might want to be quick.

In addition to revealing the ColorOS 12 Global ROM launch date, Oppo also announced its software update policy for its smartphones launched from 2019. The phone maker promises three major Android updates for its series. Find X, two Android updates for the Reno / F line, and one Android update for some A-series models.

The company has also promised three years of security patches for the A-series, while the Find X / Reno / F-series models get an additional year.
