Zach Wilson and his girlfriend Abbey Gile shared a sweet, nostalgic moment in Denver, where the Jets suffered a 26-0 loss to the Broncos on Sunday.
Gile took to his Instagram story to share a return photo with Wilson, posing on the Denver field – and explained the importance of being back at Empower Field in Mile High.
“This photo was taken in 2017. I grew up a Denver fan and my family took Zach to his first game in the NFL. I was 16 and Zach 18, ”Gile wrote in the photo, which showed the Jets rookie quarterback swinging a Broncos t-shirt.
“Today was the first time for me and Zach to come back to Mile High and he was playing on the pitch this time. So surreal. Life is a blessing, ”Gile explained, adding a green heart emoji.
She shared a separate photo with Wilson and wrote, “Still proud of him. ”
In another slide, Gile posted a mirror selfie advertising his custom white tracksuit by The Denim Blonde, which had Wilson’s name and number 2 on it.
In Sunday’s brutal loss to the Broncos, Wilson was sacked five times and hit nine times. He didn’t have much help from the offense and finished 19 of 35 for 160 yards with two interceptions.
After going 0-3 to start the season, Wilson explained that confidence is the key to moving forward.
“People can hate anything they want. What is feeling sorry for ourselves going to do? We have to keep our confidence high and understand that we are in this position for a reason and understand that we have the talent, we have the players, we have the coaches and the plans to get things done, ”he said. .
Wilson and Gile have been romantically linked since high school. She was on hand to support the BYU product during the 2021 NFL Draft, where he was selected second overall by the Jets.
