The first photo of a murdered woman in a London park has been released as detectives continue to investigate the attack.
Police named the victim Sabina Nessa, 28, of Kidbrooke. She was first pictured wearing her college gown.
Officers were called to the Kidbrooke community center around 5:30 p.m.
An autopsy was inconclusive on September 20.
Ms. Nessa’s relatives have been informed and they are supported by specialized officers.
DCI Joe Garrity, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our early investigations suggest that this attack happened around 8:30 pm on Friday September 17th, at a time when the park was probably used by many people, dog walkers to joggers.
“Sabina was found near the OneSpace Community Center which we know to be a facility used by many people and we would ask anyone in or around the area who might have information to come forward. .
“We are working tirelessly to bring justice to this young woman’s family, and we need your help to do so. “
A man in his 40s who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released under investigation pending further investigation.
Chief Superintendent Trevor Lawry, responsible for the local police force in Greenwich, said: “Our thoughts are first and foremost with Sabina’s family and friends following this shocking incident and we will continue to support them as we go. as the investigation progresses.
“We know this incident will be worrying for those who live and work in the community. “
Very high visibility patrols remain in place near the crime scene and other open spaces across Lewisham and Greenwich.
A number of crime scenes are in place and investigations are ongoing.
