Ragnar Klavan revealed that Jürgen Klopp and James Milner almost got into a fight once in the locker room, after a particularly heated exchange.

The pair apparently still have a great relationship, with Milner currently the club’s vice-captain, but the frustration almost spilled over afterwards. Liverpool lost points against Sunderland in 2017.

Pursuing future title-winner Chelsea, a penalty from Jermain Defoe cost the Reds all three points at the Stadium of Light – and Klavan admitted it was Milner, not Klopp, who backed off first.

“We saw with his own eyes that Klopp would have gone all the way just to prove his point,” the defender told the Betsafe Estonia Podcast.

“So since FSG has owned the club we have had record sales working with Nike. “
