The teenager is said to have died in a traffic accident in San Antonia, Texas on Sunday.
Although his death has yet to be officially confirmed, his devastated friends have started leaving tributes to him online.
Gabriel had accumulated over a million followers on TikTok under his username @gabenotbabe.
He last posted four days ago.
He regularly posted funny videos of himself and his friends, as well as clips of himself in lip sync with songs.
Another social media star, Ricky Flores, shared his grief on Instagram as he posted a series of photos of him and Gabriel together.
He wrote, “Rest well, brother. Words can’t even explain how I’m feeling right now. Dude, I would do anything to get you back right away, brother. “
Ricky also shared a link to a GoFundMe page set up to raise money for a memorial for his late friend.
Entitled “Gabe’s Memorial Fund” it reads: “I don’t know what’s real and what isn’t, but unfortunately Gabe died in a car crash on September 26th, we don’t. couldn’t believe it when we found out. in details because it’s so hard for us to talk about the pain he went through.
