Taskmaster’s Alex Horne apologizes after first censorship – .

Tyrant came back tonight (September 23) with a whole new set of ridiculous tasks as well as an unexpected change.

The Season 12 premiere saw new additions Alan Davies, Desiree Burch, Guz Khan, Morgana Robinson and Victoria Coren Mitchell attempt a series of tasks under the amused eyes of Taskmaster Greg Davies and Alex Horne.

While the formula has remained unchanged, the Channel 4 reality show has left viewers in awe of censoring all the swear words for its big comeback. Something that fans have not failed to highlight on Twitter.

“#Taskmaster loves you but doesn’t change the swear words. After the day that I have had, I need some laughs and some bad language ”, a person wrote.

“What are all those beeps?” Is it a children’s program now? »Read another tweeter.

The mystery of the beep was easily solved by Horne on Twitter. The host explained that the censored version of the episode aired by accident.

“Ah, just got off the stage and I’ve been told several times that the wrong version of Taskmaster has been played.” Really sorry. Bleeped should be on All4. The normal version of this ep will be here soon. And normal service resumed next week. Thanks for understanding, ”Horne wrote.

Yet this beep version didn’t diminish the comedic absurdity of sitting on cakes and throwing forks and ducks at water balloons.

The five contestants had to go up against a variety of tasks ranging from throwing balls at Horne to painting a flattering image of Davies, with a bit of a twist. The actors were to paint lying with their backs flat on a climbing plant and a canvas six inches or six feet apart. There are a lot of beeps there for sure.

This artistic task was mastered by Guz Khan, who surprised Davies with his most surprised facial expression, “the bags under the eyes” included.

And after miserably failing to pop water balloons with an array of ineffective tools and play charades, Morgana Robinson was crowned the first episode winner with 17 points.

Tyrant airs Thursdays on Channel 4 at 9 p.m. A new Champion of Champions special is also set to air in 2021.
