Sony is now considering offering a Horizon forbidden to the west switch from PS4 to PS5. The U-turn follows a lot of criticism after the company announced that there would be no upgrade path for Horizon forbidden to the west PS4 gamers, despite the initial promise of a free upgrade to the PS5 version.
“It’s quite clear that the offers we confirmed at our pre-order launch missed the mark,” admits Jim Ryan, president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment. “While the profound impact of the pandemic has pushed West forbidden outside of the launch window that we initially envisioned, we will maintain our offer: players who buy Horizon forbidden to the west on PlayStation 4 will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version for free.
Sony originally planned to force PS4 players to Horizon forbidden to the west to purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition at $ 79.99, the Collector’s Edition at $ 199.99 or the Regalla Edition at $ 259.99 to access the PS4 and PS5 versions of West forbidden.
Sony is now also committed to offering a $ 10 digital upgrade option for digital and physical versions of exclusive PlayStation exclusive cross-gen titles. It means the next God of the war, Gran Turismo 7, and other first-party cross-gen games from Sony will have a $ 10 digital upgrade option for PS4 gamers looking to upgrade to the PS5 version of the games.
