Public health partially closes Toronto workplace due to COVID-19 outbreak – .


Toronto Public Health (TPH) has reported four new outbreaks of COVID-19 at workplaces across the city and ordered a business to partially shut down.
Over the past week, outbreaks have been reported at EllisDon, ProLogix Distribution Services, Amherst Crane Rental and Southland Holdings.

According to the Toronto Watch Dashboard, two cases each have been reported to EllisDon and ProLogix, three cases have been confirmed in Amherst and four in Southland.

YaYA Foods, located at 51 Rexdale Boulevard, has been partially closed after seven cases of COVID-19 were detected at the manufacturing plant.

Outbreaks previously reported to the City of Toronto, JOEY Sherway, Toronto Police Department and RA Crete Scape Ltd have been declared over.

A separate outbreak in EllisDon has grown to four cases since it was first reported on September 9.

TPH declares a COVID-19 outbreak in a workplace when two or more laboratory-confirmed cases of the virus with an epidemiologic link over a 14-day period.

Only workplaces with 20 or more employees are publicly appointed to protect the privacy of employees and businesses.

To date, the city of Toronto has reported 177,812 cases of COVID-19 and 3,647 deaths.
