Preacher carrying sign saying ‘Women belong to the kitchen’ is run over by student – .

A preacher who allegedly carried a sign with a misogynistic slogan was attacked on Tuesday by an angry student at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
A man and woman identifying themselves as campus preachers carried signs that witnesses said carried sexist messages, saying women should stay home rather than educate themselves.

A student, seeing the signs, attacked the man, punched him and knocked him down.

When the brawl broke out, a spectator recorded what was happening and can be heard in the background panting: “Holy S ***! As the man was thrown to the ground. Other students can be heard shouting and encouraging the brawl.

The person who captured the fight told AL.com that the two alleged preachers were carrying signs saying that women “belong in the kitchen, they shouldn’t be in college… just really misogynistic stuff.”

A number of police officers from the University of Alabama campus then intervened, separating the two men to end the fight.

A UAB spokesperson told AL.com: “Yesterday there was a disturbing and very unfortunate altercation on campus between protesters and what appeared to be a student. We cannot comment further at this time as this is an ongoing investigation. “
