Police halt Florida reservation search for missing boyfriend Brian Laundrie – .

Police evicted Brian Laundrie’s parents from their Florida home and declared the property a “crime scene”.
A five-vehicle convoy arrived on the street where Laundrie’s house is located in North Port at around 9.45 a.m. Monday morning and cordoned off the surrounding area.

Moments later, FBI agents arrived to execute the warrant and could be heard saying “search warrant” and “you are at a crime scene.”

Brian Laundrie’s father, Christopher, could be seen being led out of the house by FBI agents.

He and his wife Roberta Laundrie were being held in a police van parked in the driveway as officers searched.

In a tweet, the FBI said it was “today executing a court-authorized search warrant at Laundrie’s residence in North Port, Fla. Regarding the Gabrielle ‘Gabby’ Petito investigation.”

“No further details can be provided as this is an active and ongoing investigation,” the FBI said.

Mr Laundrie, 23, has been named a Person of Interest in the disappearance of his girlfriend Gabby Petito, 22, whose remains were found in the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming on Sunday.

Ms Petito was last seen alive on August 24, and her parents last spoke to her the next day.

Earlier Monday, authorities called off their search for Mr. Laundrie in the Florida reservation where he allegedly fled last week.

North Port Police said Monday they did not intend to conduct a major search again today on the Carlton reservation near her parents’ home because she “exhausted all avenues there “, Fox News reported.

“At the moment, we currently believe that we have exhausted all possibilities of searching for land there,” North Port Police spokesman Josh Taylor said.

“Law enforcement continues to search for Brian Laundrie. “

Police had been criticized for not placing Mr. Laundrie under surveillance.

Mr. Laundrie returned home on September 1 and refused to cooperate with authorities in the search for his missing girlfriend.

He has not been seen since he left his parents’ house six days ago.

A lawyer for the Laundrie family is said to have told ABC7 that he said he was going on a hike to the nearby Carlton reservation and did not return to his parents, which he and Ms Petito had shared together.

When they picked him up on Wednesday, his family found only his vehicle parked near the reserve, which spans over 24,000 acres and is located just north of his parents’ home.

Steven Bertolino, Laundrie’s lawyer, said police put a note on the vehicle asking for it to be removed, and the family would have left it until Thursday, in case it returned.

On Sunday, investigators announced they had found a body “consistent” with that of Ms. Petito – eight days after her disappearance on September 11, and a police search nationwide.

The location where the body was found was not far from where a pickup truck belonging to Ms Petito and Mr Laundrie was filmed by two passers-by, along a dirt road near Spread Creek, Wyoming, August 27.
