Chase star Paul Sinha paid tribute to a Wymondham man who died in a house fire ahead of the episode he filmed.

Pete Green, known to some as Pete Travis, died in the June 27, 2021 fire at his Damgate Street home.

The ITV episode of Mr. Green aired Monday night in which he won £ 3,000 in his cash generator.

He accepted a negative offer of £ 5,000 in the head-to-head against Mr Sinha and returned to the final pursuit. Mr. Green, along with his compatriot Jessica, were beaten in the final chase with one second left.

In a tweet, hunter Mr. Sinha described Mr. Green as a “true gentleman”, calling him a “warm, engaging and very entertaining adversary”.

A true pillar of Wymondham, Mr Green made a small piece of political history when he was elected to Wymondham City Council on behalf of a political party of his own foundation in 2019.

But his involvement in city affairs has its roots long before that date, with him already a familiar figure around Wymondham wearing his town crier badges.
