New photo of Justin Trudeau in blackface at Arabian Nights party emerges – .

Another image of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in blackface at the 2001 Arabian Nights party – this time in color – appeared just in time for the Canadian federal election.

The photo, published Sunday by Canadian Proud, shows the Liberal icon in a turban and robe with his tongue out. The world leader also covered his face with dark makeup.

The latest callous image of the Canadian Prime Minister, who has a checkered blackface history, has been called a national embarrassment and Trudeau has been called a “clown” by many netizens.

“I knew, even as a child, that this type of behavior was bad. So either he was completely ignorant or he just didn’t care. Terrible, ”Jason Rose tweeted.

‘Canada is about to become the laughing stock of the world by re-electing that clown face. Can we be that stupid ?! ‘ added Henry Rasmussen.

Others were quick to point out that Trudeau was not a child but was 29 and a teacher when he attended Arabian Nights, even in 2001.

Photos of the event first appeared in 2019 – sparking outrage and an apology from Trudeau – but this is the first time a color image of the party has been released.

The release of the never-before-seen photo was timed for the biggest impact on Trudeau who bet on an early election in a bid to win a majority of seats in Parliament. Voting begins today and the opposition has repeatedly accused Trudeau of calling for unnecessary early voting during the pandemic – two years ahead of the deadline – for their own personal ambition

Now his opponents are quick to point out the embarrassment Trudeau has caused his country through his racist exploits.

One night before the Canadian federal election, a new photo appeared of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in blackface

In 2019, similar images from the same event appeared online, but this is the first time this particular image has been posted.

Many simply called on everyone to “reject it”.

Still, many on the other side of the fence appeared to support the disgraced politician.

Several pointed out that the photo was 20 years old and that Trudeau apologized when other images of the event appeared in 2019.

But the Conservatives were quick to point out the hypocrisy, saying the Liberals would be quick to “cancel” anyone on the right for the same behavior.

“It’s just as strange to see people apologize for blatant racism – especially people who wouldn’t allow the same tolerance towards anyone. To me that sort of thing is a red line – regardless of affiliation, ”Dylan Barrons tweeted.

Another user added: “I’m not a curator, but every time a photo of Justin Trudeau wearing #blackface comes out I just can’t understand how he was never held accountable by the party, the party members and supporters. ”

Trudeau has yet to comment on the last photo.

But in September 2019, he apologized for wearing blackface to the Arabian Nights party and also brought up an incident in high school where he dressed up as Harry Belafonte to sing the Jamaican song Day-O. A video also appeared around this time of Trudeau in blackface at a separate event.

Trudeau said his behavior had been “unacceptable” and that he had enjoyed “layers of privilege” in his life. He also said he took “full responsibility” for the scandal.

He apologized but did not confirm that these three incidents were the only times in his life that he had worn blackface.

“What I did to them hurt them, hurt people who shouldn’t have to face intolerance and bigotry because of their identity.

“It’s something that I deeply, deeply regret,” Trudeau said.

Darkening one’s face, regardless of the context or circumstances, is always unacceptable due to the racist history of blackface.

“I should have understood that then and I never should have,” he said.

Trudeau continued, “When we reflect on the mistakes we have made in the past, we are always going to ask ourselves why did we do this?

“It wasn’t a good idea, it was a terrible idea. It was something that downplays and takes advantage of a reality I didn’t have to live with – to be discriminated against, to be marginalized for the color of my skin.

“I come from a privileged place. I have to admit that I have let down a lot of people and I am here today to reflect on this and ask for forgiveness.

In the first photograph, Trudeau is disguised as Jamaican singer Harry Belafonte to sing Day-O, a Jamaican song, at Jean Brébeuf High School during a talent show. He graduated from the school in the early 1990s.

The video, which is undated but was given to Global News, shows him with a black face and raising his arms and sticking out his tongue as he is dressed in a white t-shirt and jeans.

At a press conference in his campaign plane, he admitted the Arabian Nights photo was racist and said he should have known.

“I’m angry with myself, I’m disappointed with myself,” he said.

He also mentioned the high school photo before he graduated, saying, “When I was in high school I dressed for a talent show and sang ‘Day-O’ with makeup on. ”

Trudeau said the photo of the brown face was taken at a Arabian Nights end-of-year gala and he dressed in an Aladdin costume.

“I should have known better then, but I didn’t, and I’m deeply sorry about that,” he said.

‘I should not have done that. I take responsibility for it. It was a stupid thing to do.

“These are situations that I deeply regret,” he said.

Trudeau said it was a racist act but he didn’t realize it then and knows it better now.

He admitted that he had “always been more enthusiastic about costumes than is sometimes appropriate”.

He worked in private school before entering politics and at the same time his father Pierre Trudeau was the Prime Minister of Canada.

Trudeau taught French, among other things, when he was a teacher at a private school where tuition is around $ 23,000 per year.

He left his teaching post there after the spring of 2001.

Trudeau, in power since 2015, faces a tough battle for his re-election.
