This is not a Ryder Cup without controversy over the rules.
Brooks Koepka, who saw a dominant 3-hole lead over his European rivals almost completely reversed, let his frustrations spill over at the 15th hole on Saturday.

Playing four alongside Daniel Berger against Jon Rahm and Sergio Garcia, Koepka played Berger’s drive on the 15th. The ball nestled in the tall grass near a bunker and pushed against a drainpipe. Koepka and Berger thought it was enough to get relief – that is, a free drop – and even Garcia agreed with them.

But course officials decided the pipe, which was in front of Koepka’s shot, was not close enough to warrant relief.

Koepka has been raging, which is understandable considering he is coming out of an injury suffered earlier this month when he struck a tree root during a swing at the Tour Championship.

His argument didn’t influence the officials, and as he prepared to strike, Koepka motioned directly to the two officials and said, “If I break my wrist, it’s to fuck you both.” ”
