2 pilots injured in military plane crash – .

Police were notified of the crash in the 4,000-block Tejas and Dakota trail around 10:53 am (11:53 am ET) and upon arrival, found a pilot who had ejected from the military training jet taken in power lines, the police chief of Lake Worth. JT Manoushagian said at a press conference on Sunday afternoon. Another pilot also ejected from the training jet and was found in a nearby neighborhood.

The two pilots were taken to a local hospital for treatment, firefighters said. Manoushagian said it was not clear what model of the jet or the training exercise the pilots performed.

None of the homes involved in the crash were directly affected, said fire chief Ryan Arthur. Some damage has taken place in the areas around the houses, he said.

“This incident could have been a lot worse knowing that this plane crashed in a residential area here in Lake Worth,” Arthur said.

Three people in the homes were treated and released at the scene, according to a statement from Fort Worth Fire Department Public Information Officer Kristen O’Hare.
All the fires were extinguished by this time. Firefighters, police and other public safety agencies remain at the scene.

Lake Worth is approximately 8 miles northwest of Fort Worth.

CNN has contacted Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Fort Worth, but has yet to receive a response.
