Warning to hotel visitors after four people tested positive for Covid – .

Four people who visited a hotel in Neath recently tested positive for Covid and not everyone who was at the scene that day has been found, the council said.
Neath Port Talbot Council’s Test, Trace, Protect (TTP) service wants people to know about four people who very recently tested positive for Covid-19 who attended the Castle Hotel, The Parade, Neath, July 24, 2021.

A spokesperson for the council said: “The Test, Trace, Protect department was in contact with the location but could not successfully locate everyone present that day. We remind everyone who attended the Castle Hotel on Saturday July 24th that it is not too late to get tested and should do so right away (even if you have no symptoms).

“Covid has an incubation period of two to 14 days and therefore those who were in the hotel may be infected but may not be aware or may not have symptoms. We urge you to take a test as soon as possible. “

Anyone with symptoms of coronavirus, even mild ones, should stay home before and after a test until they have received a negative test result. Household members must also stay home and isolate themselves until the result is received.

The latest data released by Public Health Wales (PHW) on Monday August 2 confirmed that there had been 1,106 new cases identified within 24 hours through Sunday morning, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic at 242,668.

With one new death reported, the total number of people who have died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 now stands at 5,616.

The latest infection rate across Wales is now 144.0 per 100,000 people, based on the seven days to July 28, down from 148.6 the previous day. The infection rate in Wales has now declined steadily for over a week.
