Volunteer Marshal dies after Brands Hatch incident – .


A volunteer Brands Hatch Classic Motor Circuit marshal died on Saturday following an incident at a British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) car championship.
According to Sky News, the marshal was struck by a car that left the track, and police and air ambulance were called to the circuit on Saturday afternoon.

BARC said in a statement: “The British Automobile Racing Club is saddened to confirm that following an accident at a racing meeting at the Brands Hatch circuit today, a volunteer commissioner has tragically lost his life. The rest of the race day the activity was canceled.

“On behalf of all those connected with BARC, we are devastated by the loss of one of the incredible members of the volunteer marshal community who does so much to make the sport possible. Our thoughts and best wishes are with the family and friends of everyone involved. . “

The statement added that the organization is working with the national governing body, Motorsport UK, and the local police.

Motorsport UK said in a declaration: “Everyone’s thoughts at Motorsport UK are with the marshal’s family, the event organizers and other members of the motorsport community in attendance. Together with BARC, we have started a full investigation into the accident. “

The event is expected to resume on Sunday.
