Tottenham have had informal talks with representatives of Houssem Aouar on a possible transfer of the Lyon midfielder this summer, according to reports.
Sportsmail revealed this week that Spurs asked Lyon about the availability of their 23-year-old midfielder, who has scored 17 goals in the past two years for the French club.
Arsenal are a longtime admirer of the French midfielder and made several offers for him last summer but a decision never materialized as the Gunners went to sign Thomas Partey for £ 45million instead .

And according to Sky Sports News, Spurs have spoken about Aouar’s team but the midfielder ideally wants to play in a Champions League team.
Spurs are currently in the UEFA Europa Conference League after a seventh place last season, and will face Pacos de Ferreira on Thursday in the play-off second leg with a goal clear after the opening draw.
Aouar scored eight goals and provided four assists in 33 appearances for the Ligue 1 side last season.
But the 23-year-old is one of several Lyon stars placed on the transfer list by Lyon sporting director Juninho. Reports in France claim the Brazilian is so eager to sell Aouar that the club are ready to drop his price by £ 25million.

Spurs are looking for a midfielder with Tanguy Ndombele, Moussa Sissoko and Serge Aurier looking to leave while Harry Winks could be on loan.
Tottenham also have a number of clubs interested in loaning Oliver Skipp, although he is currently part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans.
Sportsmail revealed on Monday that Spurs have reached a deal of £ 14.5million plus additions with Metz for midfielder Pape Sarr.
The 18-year-old Senegal international will remain on loan with the French team for the season.

Sarr has been courted by a number of parties this summer, including Aston Villa, Everton, Arsenal and Chelsea, with Metz chairman Bernard Serin confirming they have received a number of offers.
However, the player was keen to join Tottenham after having had initial talks. He is due for a medical examination and is expected to attend Tottenham’s home game with Watford on Saturday which means he will miss Metz’s game against Clermont. Sarr is said to be signing a six-year contract.
Tottenham have expressed interest in Granada’s Portuguese center-back Domingos Duarte and remain keen to add another striker. Their initial offer to sign Adama Traore from Wolves was rejected.
