Thiago Alcantara, Jordan Henderson and Liverpool injured before Burnley – .

Liverpool will face Burnley on Saturday afternoon as the Reds are expected to welcome a full crowd from Anfield for the first time since the start of the pandemic.
Jurgen Klopp will want his side to build on the impressive performance against Norwich which saw them comfortably defeat their opponents 3-0 at Carrow Road.

Liverpool’s current injury list remains small as Klopp will have a near-fit squad at his disposal.

Here are the most recent updates on Liverpool’s injury roster including full details on when they could return.

Andy Robertson

The Liverpool left-back limped out late in the first half against Athletic Bilbao in their penultimate pre-season friendly just over a week ago.

Scans showed Robertson’s ankle damage was not extensive enough to require surgery, but it was serious enough that the Scotland international missed the first few weeks of the campaign.

His absence gave Kostas Tsimikas the opportunity to relaunch his career at Liverpool after having had a difficult first season at Anfield with his first team chances limited.

“The scan doesn’t suggest anything too severe, but there is ligament damage that will need to be repaired,” Robertson said following the news of his injury.

“I will be transplanting every day so that I can help the team again as soon as possible. “

No date has been set for a potential return to action and if Tsimikas is able to continue his positive start to the season, Robertson is unlikely to be rushed as they will seek to avoid any damage in the long term.

“I think we were lucky with Andy, it could have been a lot worse,” Klopp said after Liverpool’s final pre-season game against Osasuna on Monday night.

“The pictures weren’t very good but we were lucky and it won’t be too long. Before the international break [in early September], after the international break, I don’t know. “

Curtis Jones

Liverpool are expected to be boosted by the return of Curtis Jones when he hosts Burnley at Anfield this weekend after he was ruled out of his opener with a concussion.

The 20-year-old was forced aside in the Reds’ 3-1 win over Osasuna last week, but resumed training and played in a friendly behind closed doors on Sunday.

The injury was not serious and was due to the head injury protocol, as the Liverpool boss explained ahead of their game against Norwich.

“He had a slight concussion so we just have to go through protocol,” Klopp told

“He’s fine, he’s feeling fine again, but that’s the protocol. He’s available for training from Sunday I think.

Jordan Henderson

The Liverpool skipper had arrived late for the preseason after being part of the England squad which reached the Euro 2020 final last month.

Henderson made it to the Reds’ friendly final against Osasuna last Monday but was out for the trip to Norwich this weekend due to lack of fitness.

The midfielder starred in a behind-the-scenes friendly against Aston Villa in a bid to prepare for Liverpool’s first home game of the season against Burnley.

The former Bayern Munich midfielder has also been in action throughout the preseason, as he has also struggled for the match’s fitness.

Despite playing 30 minutes of the friendly against Osasuna, the midfielder was another absent for the opening game of the league season.

Rather, he was involved in the friendly against Villa with the aim of being available for this weekend’s game.
