Thea Ruth White, voice of Muriel on “Courage the Cowardly Dog”, deceased at 81 – .

Her family shared the sad news over the weekend, claiming that she died Friday following surgery to remove a cancerous mass from her liver … only her nephew, Brad Zitzner, says she contracted an infection soon after.

By all accounts, she fought hard… but lost her battle with cancer. Just before the intervention – Thea’s brother, John, posted a video of herself asking for wishes from her fans (young and old) who she said would help her in her recovery. She also seemed to speak in the voice of Muriel, from the famous Cartoon Network show of which she is the most famous.

John posted another video on Facebook, which seemed to indicate that this was something Thea had been dealing with for quite some time – apparently she had had her first surgery just a week ago… and it has a video of she speaks following this procedure.

His nephew writes: “Thank you Feefer for your leadership in your family. The role you played with my children and your whole family unfortunately cannot be replaced. I can see hundreds of fan tributes already online so your love has been shared far and wide. . “

Brad adds, “You loved life and I even know I know the end result. I like your decision to go there and try to win. “

Thea didn’t start acting until later in her life – it seems her first major role was in ‘CTCD’, in which she starred for four years. She has also lent her talents to shows like “Pecola” and “Scooby Doo” … but it seems she has been loyal to portraying Muriel in various forms.
