‘The Lord of the Rings’ TV Series Gets a Premiere Date on Amazon – First Look Photo – Deadline – .


Amazon Studios season 1 filming wrapped up today the The Lord of the Rings TV series, and now we have a premiere date.

The studio has set Friday, September 2, 2022 for the start of the first season of the yet to be titled series. New episodes will air weekly, exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 territories and countries around the world. Amazon Studios also released the first image in the series linked to the end of filming in New Zealand.

Developed by JD Payne and Patrick McKay, The Lord of the Rings The series is described as an “epic drama” set in the Second Age of Middle-earth – thousands of years before the events of the Lord of the Rings films and the JRR Tolkien novels on which they were based. The series presents for the very first time the legendary Second Age in the history of Middle-earth by JRR Tolkien. Beginning in a time of relative peace, thousands of years before the events of Tolkien The Hobbits and The Lord of the Rings books, the series follows a set of characters, both familiar and new, as they face the dreaded re-emergence of evil in Middle-earth.
