Ted DiBiase Helps Cameron Grimes Beat LA Knight and Claim $ 1 Million Title at NXT TakeOver 36 – .

Chez NXT TakeOver 36, Cameron Grimes challenged LA Knight for the Million Dollar Championship with the additional stipulation that Ted DiBiase would become Knight’s butler if Grimes lost the match. But Grimes made sure the Legend didn’t have to do this, as he defeated Knight and won the title.

Right away, Grimes fought Knight and took out the frustration that surely had built up since he was forced to become the champion’s butler. DiBiase watched from the ring as Grimes controlled the opening minutes of the fight; he even gave Grimes a boost with an Irish whip so he could gain momentum by jumping over the steel steps.

Knight turned the fight around and gained the upper hand by immobilizing Grimes. The champion crushed Grimes’ rally attempt, but the fan-favorite star persevered. He dodged a moonlit jump on the springboard and knocked Knight down with a flurry of offense. Knight blocked Grimes’ attempt to lock down the Million Dollar Dream, but he was barely kicked out after a hurricane. Still, Knight continued to fight and he regained control of the match with a bulldog and a slam for a count of two. Grimes retaliated with two kicks and planted Knight with a modified C4.

Later in the match, Grimes locked the Million Dollar Dream and held the grip when Knight attempted to turn it into a pin attempt. Once Knight escaped, he grabbed his Million Dollar Championship, but Grimes kicked him and stopped him from using it.

With the ref distracted, DiBiase hit Knight and locked the Million Dollar Dream. Grimes then hit the Cave-in for the win.
