The new Strictly Come Dancing series has already been plunged into chaos after professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova tested positive for coronavirus.
The celebrity roster, so far including McFly’s Tom Fletcher, GBBO’s John Whaite, AJ Odudu, Dan Walker, Katie McGlynn, Rhys Stephenson, Sara Davies and Robert Webb, was released by the BBC over the past week. .
But now bosses are panicking after Ukrainian-Slovenian dancer Nadiya, 31, contracted the virus in the first week of filming, which means many actors and crews have to self-isolate for 10 days, according to The Sun.
Pandemic: New Strictly Come Dancing series has already been plunged into chaos after professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova tested positive for coronavirus
A source told the publication: “This is not exactly the start of the dream, obviously the BBC bosses are panicking.
“They take every precaution to be safe from Covid and keep everyone safe, but can’t control everything, Nadiya tested positive in one of the first meetings, during the studio platform .
“Fortunately, none of the celebrities have started training yet, but that still means anyone who came into contact with her has been asked to self-isolate. ”

The Strictly insider added that fear of Covid has heightened fears among bosses that other dancers and celebrities could test positive when rehearsals begin later this month.
The source said the BBC could put “even more measures and precautions in place” for the safety of the actors and to ensure the show goes off without a hitch.
A representative for Strictly Come Dancing declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline.
Nadiya joined the series in 2017 and partnered with EastEnders actor Davood Ghadami and Blue’s Lee Ryan the following year before being partnered with footballer David James.
She was an accompaniment dancer last year. Strictly was notoriously disrupted in 2020 thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Boxer Nicola Adams and his dance partner Katya Jones were forced to withdraw from the competition after Katya tested positive for the coronavirus, while YouTuber HRVY narrowly avoided being banned from the show, having received a positive test result a few days before the start of the series.

But it looks like things are back to normal in 2021 – aside from one or two factors still deemed too difficult to navigate amid the global health crisis.
Show boss Sarah James told the Mirror: “We are delighted that Strictly is returning for a full series this year and know how much viewers are looking forward to getting their Strictly full fix and seeing the return of a lot – loved specials.
“We’re all so sad that we won’t be able to make it to Blackpool this year, but we can’t wait to come back and dance in the one and only Blackpool Tower Ballroom in the future. “
The Blackpool episode usually takes place towards the end of the series, but was deleted last year with restrictions creating logistical difficulties on production.
Always avoid: Meanwhile, Blackpool has STILL been removed due to the ongoing pandemic
But 2021 will include the show’s thematic weeks – such as Movie Week, Musical Week, and Halloween Week.
Last year these were scrapped, proving too complicated to deal with amid the pandemic.
The Christmas special will also be returning, with the show scheduled to begin in its usual early fall time slot, rather than October, like last year.
It is said that rather than a reduced number of celebrities, the full 15 will participate again, having reduced that number to 12 for the final round.
There are also plans to re-enter the live audience – another aspect banned last season.
“The complete solution! But Strictly will bring back EVERY theme weeks, a live audience, and the usual 15 celebrity contestants [pictured Oti Mabuse and Kelvin Fletcher during Halloween Week 2019]
Isolation will remain in place for professional dancers. This will see them sent to a hotel near Strictly Studios in Hertfordshire several weeks before the show returns.
The celebrities – who will start to be revealed gradually at the end of the summer – will also not have the usual three-week gap between pairing up with their pros and dancing for the first time on live TV.
This was reduced to a week thanks to logistical factors.
