PSG confirm Kylian Mbappe want to leave amid Liverpool transfer speculation – .

PSG sporting director Leonardo has confirmed that Kylian Mbappe is keen to leave the club amid speculation surrounding his future.
It was reported last night that Real Madrid saw a £ 137million offer rejected for the 22-year-old, who no longer has a contract with Ligue 1 next summer.

Mbappe has been offered two different proposals by PSG to extend his stay at the Parc des Princes, with an offer at the level of the team’s best players two months ago and one above that of these players recently.

If he fails to figure out his future this summer, the France international will be eligible for a free transfer in 2022 – opening the door for a number of clubs including Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Explaining the current state of play of this transfer saga to RMC Sport, via Get French Football News, Leonardo said: “Kylian Mbappe wants to leave, it seems clear.

“If Real Madrid make an offer, it seems clear… I give a position, that, I think, is clear to everyone. We cannot, the week before the end of the window, change our plans. If he wants to leave, we won’t hold him back, but on our terms.

“With Kylian, I talked a lot, he always told us the same things. Kylian has always promised that he will not leave the club for free. That’s always what he told us.

“We never opened the door to a start. Never. People say I want to sell and Nasser[Al-Khelaifi, PSG president] no, but Nasser and I think the same. We are on the same page. We defend the club. Our goal is to extend his contract and keep it. But if a player wants to leave, it’s on our terms, that goes not only for Kylian, but for all players.

Ibrahima Konate is the only signing Liverpool have made this summer.

The window is closing in less than a week with many big deals still in the pipeline.

Liverpool’s rivals have grown considerably stronger, which has worried some fans.

“As far as our position on Real is concerned, it seems like a strategy to try and get a no from us, to show that they have tried everything and to wait a year to get it for free. In the last 2 years Real Madrid have behaved like this, it’s not correct, illegal even because they contacted the player.

“This is unacceptable to us because it is not correct. This is proof of the strategy: an offer arrives one year before the end of its contract and seven days before the end of the window. They want us to refuse to show Kylian that they’ve tried everything and start negotiating for next year, ”Leonardo added.
