Police say fatal shooting in Kroger’s parking lot was “not a random act of violence” – WSB-TV Channel 2 – .


SANDY SPRINGS, Ga .– Police release details in a Fatal shooting in the parking lot of a Metro Atlanta Kroger grocery store.

Officers were called to the Orchard Park Mall at 2090 Dunwoody Club Drive around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds. The two victims were taken to hospital. One of them, aged 22, was later declared dead. His identity has not yet been released.

The surviving victim was rushed to surgery and was subsequently listed as stable. His injuries have been described as not life threatening.

After speaking with witnesses, police determined that the shooting was not a random act of violence and that “everyone involved knows each other.”

Police said the two victims were together at the mall and arrived to meet the “perpetrator (s)”.

Witnesses say they heard three to four shots.

“It was crazy to arrive just at the right time because everyone was going shopping. It was the people who were panicking, ”said Lyda Matt Johnson de Channel 2.
