Ontario Reports Single New Case of COVID-19 in Ottawa Tuesday – .


OTTAWA – Public Health Ontario reported a new case of COVID-19 in Ottawa on Tuesday.

A full local Ottawa Public Health snapshot is expected this afternoon. The daily number of OPH cases often differs from those provided by Public Health Ontario, as the two health agencies pull data for their respective daily snapshot reports at different times of the day.

Across the province, Public Health Ontario added 164 new infections on Tuesday and said another Ontarian had died from COVID-19. Another 151 cases are now considered resolved.

There was no official update on the holiday on Monday, but the province released the figures on Tuesday, reporting 168 additional new cases and one more new death.

In eastern Ontario, provincial health officials have added five more cases in the past two days.

COVID-19 VACCINES IN OTTAWA

Ottawa Public Health updates vaccine numbers on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Starting Monday :

  • Ottawa residents with 1 dose (12+): 767,352
  • Ottawa residents with 2 doses (12+): 661,965
  • Proportion of the population aged 12 and over who received at least one dose: 83%
  • Share of population aged 12 and over fully vaccinated: 72%
  • Total doses received in Ottawa *: 1,333,790

** Total doses received do not include doses shipped to pharmacies and primary care clinics, but statistics for Ottawa residents with one or two doses include anyone with an Ottawa postal code who has been vaccinated anywhere in Ontario.

CASES OF COVID-19 IN THE REGION

  • Eastern Ontario Health Unit: One new case Monday, no new case Tuesday
  • Hastings Prince Edward public health: zero new cases Monday, two new cases Tuesday
  • Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington public health: one new case Monday, zero new cases Tuesday
  • Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit: zero new cases on Monday, one new case on Tuesday
  • Renfrew County and District Health Unit: Zero new cases Monday and Tuesday
