New cases surpass 400 in Sunday’s provincial update – .

The province has reported 423 new cases of the novel coronavirus, a significant jump from numbers Ontario residents saw a week ago.

Six other people have died from the virus, the province said.

According to the province’s Sunday report, the Ottawa health unit has counted 19 new cases of COVID-19. Ottawa Public Health will have its own data report available later today.

In areas outside of Ottawa, the province has reported two new cases to the Eastern Ontario Health Unit. The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit and the Renfrew County and District Health Unit have had no new cases.

In terms of health units with the most new cases, Toronto had 109, York Region had 57, Peel Region had 51, Hamilton had 42, and Windsor-Essex had 29.

Across the province, 115 people were in intensive care units with COVID-19 and 76 of them were on ventilators.
