Police said Jameria Hall, 28, confessed to killing Da’Neria Thomas, six, and Davin Thomas, eight, at their home in Baltimore, United States,
Jameria Hall, 28, reportedly drowned and strangled six-year-old Da’Neria Thomas and stabbed eight-year-old Davin Thomas to death at their home in Baltimore, United States.
The tragic children were known to be alive for the last time on August 19 when neighbors told police they heard Da’Neria shouting “Mom, no”.
Police discovered the decomposing bodies of the siblings on Thursday after responding to a call about a foul odor coming from the family’s apartment.
Da’Neria was found in the bath with clothes wrapped around her neck and her brother’s body was in a sleeping bag with a knife in his chest, The New York Post reports.
Hall was not at the apartment when the police arrived.
When police found her, she confessed to killing them during police questioning, Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said at a press conference.
He continued, “There is nothing more difficult than investigating the murder of a child. “
Hall allegedly told his mother that the children’s father took them away, the prosecution documents say.
But the children’s father told police they had not been with him and the last time he saw Hall on August 17 she was screaming and cursing at no one in the street, WBALTV reported.
He said she appeared to be “under the influence”.
Chantelle Carnochan, Hall’s former classmate, told WBLTV she looked “fine” the last time they texted.
“She was all about her kids – it was her first and first priority,” she said.
“She always posted her children. They were always his children. She always made comments to do better for them, so I can’t even put it in… I just can’t understand that it made sense to me. “
Police say a motive for the killings and when it took place is not yet known
Hall is charged with two counts of first degree murder, two counts of first degree assault and two counts of reckless endangerment.
