Adam Forshaw is making his first start for the first team since September 2019, returning from a long-standing hip injury and having a full preseason program under his belt.
Diego Llorente is also coming back from a recent injury suffered against Real Betis this summer, with the Spain defender a key player at full back last season. He is joined by Jamie Shackleton, Pascal Struijk and Junior Firpo in defense.
Spain international Rodrigo is named up front for the Whites, backed by Tyler Roberts in 10th place, while Illan Meslier retains his place in net.
Rounding out the roster, Marcelo picked Kalvin Phillips and Jack Harrison from the weekend, with Helder Costa replacing Raphinha on the right wing.
The bench is also filled with first-team players, as Luke Ayling, Stuart Dallas, Patrick Bamford and Mateusz Klich are ready if they need to be called up. They are joined by U23s Kristoffer Klaesson, Charlie Cresswell and Crysencio Summerville.
