Latest Covid requirements for Spain, France and Greece Orange List – .

Popular vacation destinations including France, Spain and Greece are on the government’s travel orange list, meaning fully vaccinated travelers can travel without having to self-quarantine on their return.
The green, orange and red lists are reviewed every three weeks with the next update scheduled for August 25 or 26.

Transportation Secretary Grant Shapps told Sky News on August 5 that there would be no travel changes in the meantime, so people can go on vacation “without looking over their shoulders all the time.”

For those taking advantage of the latest travel list changes, here’s everything you need to know if you’re heading to Orange List destinations.

Isolation and testing rules

For all Amber List countries, the following rules should be followed for fully vaccinated travelers or those under the age of 18:

  • Take a Covid-19 test three days before your trip to England;
  • Complete a passenger locator form within 48 hours of your arrival in England;
  • Take a Covid-19 test no later than the second day of your return to England.

Travelers not fully vaccinated should:

  • Take a Covid-19 test three days before your trip to England;
  • Complete a passenger locator form within 48 hours of your arrival in England;
  • Quarantine at home or in the place of your stay for 10 days upon your arrival in England;
  • Take a Covid-19 test no later than the second day and on or after the eighth day in England;
  • You may be able to end the quarantine earlier if you pay for a private Covid-19 test through the Test to Release program.

Before traveling, you should also check your destination’s entry rules, as they may require you to take additional action.

From August 8, France was moved to the amber list of the amber-plus register. This means that from 4 a.m. on that date, fully vaccinated travelers arriving in England from France no longer have to self-isolate.

In France, there is no curfew and there are no internal movement restrictions.

Face masks are mandatory in all indoor public spaces and since July 21, travelers and residents must prove their Covid-19 status with a health pass.

The health pass must indicate either the full vaccination status, a negative test (PCR or antigen) or proof of a recent recovery from Covid-19.

Spain, including the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands, is on the Orange List to enter England.

Hand washing hygiene, ventilation rules and the use of face masks in confined public spaces must continue to be observed at all times.

The Spanish government requires all arrivals to Spain from the UK to present a pre-travel declaration form and one of the following upon entry: a negative COVID-19 test or proof of being fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival.

Certificates of Recovery, a medical document certifying that you have recovered from Covid within the last six months prior to travel, are currently not accepted for arrivals from the UK.

Greece and its islands are on England’s amber list. However, a partial lockdown is in effect in Chania, Crete, and the island of Zakynthos, Zante, until at least August 13, and in Heraklion, Crete, until at least August 17.

The restrictions include a curfew between 1 and 6 a.m. and a ban on playing music in places of entertainment. Travelers should check for local updates here.

If you are traveling from the UK to Greece, you will need to have completed a passenger locator form before you arrive in Greece, whether you are traveling there by ferry, road, train or plane.

You will also need proof of being fully vaccinated against Covid-19 at least 14 days before travel. Greece will also accept proof of recovery from Covid-19 for entry purposes.

These requirements are mandatory for all travelers over 12 years old.

Additionally, arrivals to Greece may be required to undergo a rapid Covid-19 test upon arrival. If you test positive when you arrive in Greece, you and those you are traveling with will need to self-isolate in quarantine hotels provided by the Greek state.
