WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Kroger Grocery Company, which owns all Dillons grocery stores, now strongly recommends that customers and employees wear face masks in their stores, regardless of their immunization status. The statement comes after the massive increase in cases of the Delta variant COVID-19 in recent months.
Kroger issued a statement regarding the increase in delta COVID-19 cases in the United States and their compliance with current CDC guidelines.
Based on scientific guidance from the CDC and input from our associates, we update our mask policy in a way that balances our values of safety and respect. Our current mask guidelines require unvaccinated associates to wear masks and require unvaccinated customers to wear masks in our stores and facilities. In light of the Delta variant and updated CDC recommendations, we strongly encourage all people, including those who have been vaccinated, to wear a mask in our stores and facilities.
In the same statement, Kroger encouraged the associates to be vaccinated in the same statement, offering them $ 100 to receive the vaccines.
While not mandatory, the company continues to follow CDC guidelines and hopes customers will do the same.
