In March, the chain began its promotion to encourage people to get vaccinated with one free donut per day for the rest of the year. So far, Krispy Kreme has said it has distributed more than 2.5 million donuts as part of the deal.
The chain also makes a special heart-shaped donut to give away, in addition to a traditional frozen donut.
“We were all hoping we were near the end of this pandemic now. We’re not, ”Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s chief marketing officer, said in a press release. “So please consider getting the vaccine if you haven’t already. And then enjoy and share two amazing donuts with our sincere thanks. “
The channel recently went public, but its stock price could use a sugar shake. The shares have fallen about 18% since its debut on July 1.
