Kanye West Presents Marilyn Manson at Chicago Donda Live Event – .


Tonight, Kanye West hosts third live listening party to his new album Donda. While the last two were in Atlanta, this one is being broadcast live from his hometown of Chicago, where he has set up a replica of his childhood home in Chicago inside Soldier Field. The house was surrounded by vehicles and candles, while a large screen shared Bible verses. Kanye appeared on the front steps alongside Marilyn Manson, who is currently facing multiple sexual assault charges. A new feature from DaBaby appeared to take the place of a previously shared JAY-Z verse. Several new songs were added to the album for its third public debut. COVID-19 vaccinations and testing would not have been required for this limited capacity event.

Kanye teased Donda since last year. In July 2020, he shared a song sample titled ” DONDAWhich featured a clip of West’s late mother, Donda, reciting lyrics from KRS-One’s “Sound of da Police.” Later that month, he tweeted and deleted a 20-song songlist, later sharing an updated 12-song list from his upcoming album, called Donda. The LP was supposed to be released on July 24, 2020, but never surfaced.

The rapper rekindled the hype around the album last month, when he announced the debut Donda Listening night, held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on July 22. Donda at the event, which was due to come out the next day. He never appeared.

West then pushed back the album’s release date to August 6 and announced a second Donda Listening night, which took place last night, again at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The event was broadcast live by Apple Music. West later revealed he would finish the album live during the streaming stream, which showed Kanye’s living quarters in the arena and a countdown clock hanging on a sparse room wall. Prior to the album’s release, Kanye sold a device called the Donda Stem Player.
