Jurgen Klopp clarifies Liverpool’s summer transfer position amid rumors – .

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is not interested in adding to his squad this summer as it makes “no sense” to him.
The Reds have brought in Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig for £ 36million as their only summer signing so far this transfer window.

There has been speculation that Klopp could be in the market for a midfielder or attacking player as the Premier League season approaches.

Here we go: F365’s season forecast for 2021/22

Lille midfielder Renato Sanches was bound yesterday, while reports today said Rennes winger Jeremy Doku is a target for the Merseysiders.

However, Klopp believes his Liverpool side are inflated enough and have ruled out any further signing unless something drastic happens.

Klopp told Norwegian broadcaster TV2: “It’s summer and the transfer window is open, so everyone is waiting for player signatures. We’ll see what happens. Let’s review the team. Do you want to buy a new fullback? A new keeper? We already have good players there.

“In the midfield we have players with a lot of experience, like Thiago, Fabinho, Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita. Plus we have some exciting young boys in Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones. In the attack we have Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Xherdan Shaqiri, Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi.

“I definitely forgot someone… If you want to buy such players, you have to spend a lot of money. We don’t have to, because the players are already there.

“You have to make changes every now and then, but then there has to be room to do it. We don’t want more players. If something happens somewhere, something can happen elsewhere, but it doesn’t make sense to add more players.

Meanwhile, Klopp believes Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk will be in contention to start against Norwich City this weekend.

He told the official Liverpool website: “I think so, it looks like [they are available to start]. But how’s it going with that stuff, we have nothing to rush in this department, ”Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com.

“We just have to make a decision then on who will start, who will come, things like that and if I think they’re ready for 90 minutes, then they’re ready to go.

“If I think we have to take them out earlier, it doesn’t make sense because the midfielder isn’t really a position where you want to change during a game and so we’ll see.

“But both look really good. An intense season is coming. We will see how we decide on this.
